I just love the new Love Live Sunshine’s insert song “Bokura no Hashittekita Michi wa…” which translates to “The path we ran on was…” and was featured in their movie “Over the Rainbow”.

I must say it’s one the catchiest songs I have ever heard from them and any song from recent memory.

The dance steps are so cute and mesmerizing. I even find myself wondering how to do the steps myself, haha! This is one song truly fitting of a movie of this beloved school idol series.

Let me share this music video to you guys. It’s uploaded in the Lantis Channel over at Youtube. I think it’s a nice song for those in dire need of some Love Live in their day.

This opening sequence from one of my favorite childhood anime series, Zettai Muteki Raijin-Oh, always makes me want to have cool giant mecha underneath my school when I was a kid (even now). It’s one of those feel good anime that I used to watch when coming home from school. I love the song and the cast of colorful characters.

Anime time!

So I have these in my hard drive and plan to watch them later.

Rail Wars

Rail Wars

It’s about trains and a bit of fan service for the non-train enthusiasts out there. I bet there are a lot of people watch this for the “moe” and romance. I fancy a bit of a harem from time to time and this will be enough to get me my harem fix for the year.  I have scanned though the series a bit and I have mixed feelings so far about this. Yes the characters are wonderfully drawn but I’m not so sure about the story though. Maybe it’s too shallow for me but then again, it’s only 12 episodes long anyway. The drama is not heavy, if there are any.

Anyway, I’ll just have to find out for myself.

Amagi Brilliant Park

Another anime to quench my harem comedy romance thirst. I heard it’s about a genius male protagonist trying to save an old theme park from running bankrupt and going out of business. Anyway, it’s produced by Kyoto Animation (KyoAni), the same guys behind K-On!, Hyouka, and Free!

I love KyoAni, but ever since K-On! and Hyouka, I’ve never been really into any anime they produced. Right now I’d love this to be that one anime that can bring me back into getting interested in KyoAni again.

That’s it for now. I’m starting to get busy with my thesis for my master course and with work of course.

See you guys next time!

Hey there anime guys and gals! Well here is some music to help us relax the Sunday away.

I chose these two music pieces since I think they are similar sounding. Well to me at least. “Melodies of Life” is one my favorite Final Fantasy songs of all time. I have it in my music playlist and listen to it from time to time.

“Perhaps Love” is very meaningful especially when sung by the legendary John Denver. Both of them are love songs and very good ones, too. I just listened to it when I overheard my dad’s Sunday radio station. I remembered it so I decided to put it here.

So I hope you enjoy these two songs. Don’t forget you can follow this blog on twitter at @archersandanime

Cheers everyone and happy Sunday!

This is one of the opening themes of one of my favorite Gundam series, Gundam Seed. It’s has a jazz feel to it and sounds very relaxing.

This music video is recently from one of the anime I’ve been watching in my local Animax cable channel, Arpeggio of Blue Steel (蒼き鋼のアルペジオ) which is a 12 part anime series adapted from a manga series of the same name.

It’s pretty short but it has lots of potential to be a lot more interesting. I think that It being short means that the most of the story line was rushed to a point that some people may find it difficult to find one character they like the most. Also, why on earth did Chihaya Gunzo, the young protagonist, accepted the request of Iona (the mental model of his submarine) to join him at life at sea doing battles and working as a gun fro hire basically? Oh by the way, mental models are, in my terms, the personification of the alien ship’s computer or the ship itself which is pretty cool if you ask me. But that being said it’s still an anime series worth watching. I followed it since day one and I’m hooked on the series. Watch it if you can.

Here is the plot according to its Wikipedia page.

Due to global warming and rising sea levels in the early 21st century, much of Earth’s landmass has been lost. In 2039, fleets of powerful sentient warships, armed with advanced technology and weaponry, mysteriously appear and decimate the world’s naval forces. These ships, collectively called ‘The Fleet of Fog’, impose a worldwide naval and aerial blockade, preventing humanity from both traveling the oceans and to other nations. During the blockade, the Fleet of Fog created Mental Models, humanoid avatars containing a ship’s Union core, as a means to develop self cultivation and overcome their lack of creative thinking of tactics like humans, which at the same time made the Mental Models have their own unique personality.

In 2056, 17 years after the blockade began, Gunzō Chihaya, a former student of the Japanese National Marine Academy, is the captain of small group of privateers called the ‘Blue Steel’. The Blue Steel are infamous for possessing a Fog submarine, the I-401, along with its Mental Model Iona, who defected to the human side. Due to I-401’s technology and Gunzō’s tactical skills, the Blue Steel have not only survived several encounters with the Fleet of Fog but managed to sink one of their most powerful warships.

Gunzō and his crew are hired by a faction of the Japanese government to deliver the prototype for a powerful weapon, a weapon that may finally allow mankind to fight back against the Fog, to the United States. The United States is the only country with the resources and capability to mass-produce the weapon system. However, the Blue Steel will face obstacles on their journey not only from the Fleet of Fog and their human allies, but from other governments and factions with their own agendas. Along the way they will also gain allies of their own from both sides, increasing their chances against seemingly overwhelming odds.

The video above is a music video of one of the ending themes of the series. It’s sung by Trident a three girl group made up of Hibiku Yamamura (Mental Model Haruna), Mai Fuchigami (Mental Model Iona), and Manami Numakura (Mental Model Takao). It’s very good and upbeat.

1. HAREM! 🙂

2. Iona is so cute and adorable

3. Cool naval battles and fight scenes

1. Too short

2. Almost no character development (rushed story)

So there you have it. I won’t spoil much of the action for you so you have to watch it for yourselves. This is Jimbo, Ikimasu!

Fairy Tail 396 c/o

The 396th manga of Fairy Tail just went out last week and I found it very much like a common FT battle issue. With Natsu and Gajeel clash against the two Tartarus demons, Torafusa and Tempesta. Though the issue is creating much attention due to an appearance of one or two Gajeel X Levy moments.

A major Gajeel X Levy Moment if I ever saw one.

The image above shows Levy giving the “breath of life” to Gajeel when he was losing air when immersed under Torafusa’s poisonous water magic. It was a major step forward since there was never much moments like this one involving the two prior to this issue.

Hands off!!!

I just love the romance in this manga since it’s so subtle yet so awesome when they do happen. Now I just wish Natsu and Lucy would have a similar moment together so I can do massive fist pumps all day.

Rankings: My Favorite Anime

As you all know this site is called Archers and Anime. So far I have been posting stuff about my Trophy Manager team, The Green Archers, and I thought it would really suck if it didn’t have anything about anime. So I’ll post one right now and each month, maybe, I’ll try to post different topics about anime that I really love. Of course it depends on how busy I am in my studies, work, or just feel too lazy.

For starters, I would love to make a post about my top five favorite anime of all time. This one is very difficult for me since I have been watching anime for so long that it takes time to figure this out on my own. In addition each anime comes from a different time frame and thus I feel differently for each one as I grow older. An example was Fushigi Yuugi. When I was a kid I thought it rocked. Don’t get me wrong, it still is one of my favorite anime, but I look at it differently now that I’m a lot older with all the dudes and romance. I love romance animes too.

So without further ado, here is my top 5 all time favorite anime.

5. “Cedie: The Little Prince” (Cedie: Ang Munting Prinsipe)

Cedie the Little Prince. I forget what the dog’s name is. image C/O

I was introduced to anime at a very young age. Something about 8 years old or so. I was a sickly and thus I needed to be at home most of the time. The character of Cedie grew in me.

I’ll be honest I don’t recall much of the side stories but I do know the main parts of the story. The story was of a young boy, Cedie, who grew up in the United States and was brought to England by his super rich grandfather since he will be a future earl in Great Britain. His Grandfather is the Earl of Dorincourt (Super rich royal guy) but is a bit of a cold person. He intends to teach Cedie all about being royal and to become an aristocrat but was taught inadvertently by Cedie about love, compassion, and basically how to live a happy life close to people they love.

It’s a must see classic. I think most Filipinos in my age group will agree.

4. Captain Tsubasa

Why not? I mean I am a football and anime fan. So Why not an anime about football!

Captain Tsubasa approves!

3. Hayao Miyazaki Movies

The Wind Rises

Alright it’s cheating and not really an anime series, but I just love how the movies he made were so real in terms of being relevant and teaching us lessons about life along the way. So far I have seen about three movies already and all of them are very well written and drawn. Each movie shows a heroine which shows that Miyazaki appreciates the strength of women and how they fit in our lives.

2. “Fushigi Yuugi” (Curious Play)

Fushigi Yuugi one of the best romance anime around

If there aver is an anime where I felt really strongly attached about, it would be Fushigi Yuugi. The story is basically about a two young high school girls, Miyaka and Yui, who finds the “Book of the Four Gods” in their local library. The book magically sends them to the past where there are knights and kingdoms of ancient China. Miyaka gets transported to the “good” kingdom of Konan which is a very developed kingdom filled with thriving businesses. Yui was send to the “bad” kingdom of Kutou which looks like a terrible place to be in since it’s run by mean looking and corrupt people. They meet people with special powers who are protectors of each of their land. They clash with each other trying to find ways on how the girls can come back to their own world.

It’s an anime about romance, action, some comedy, and loads of drama and I mean a lot of drama.

1. “Fairy Tail”

This is my latest anime craze. Fairy Tail is an anime about a girl, Lucy Heartfilia, who joins Fairy Tail, a powerful guild of wizards. Fairy Tail takes on jobs to help various people with their needs. As the story goes along they fight various evil characters, groups, and even other guilds.

I follow the manga and I love the variety of the characters and how the animation was done. I’m very happy about the second season of the anime which was done after Hiro Mashima (the manga’s artist) asked for a break in the anime for the manga to catch up.

I must admit I am a big big supporter of the Natsu/Lucy love team (LaLu for short). They are just so perfect and a good anime deserves a great love team all the time.

I’ll never get tired of NaLu! Fairy Tail!

So there you have it NaLu, err Fairy Tail, takes the number one spot in my list. Thank you for reading.
